Commissioner Malmström's Speech: Green Goods: Promoting EU environmental objectives through trade

On June 3rd, The European Commission held a stakeholder meeting on the negotiations for an environmental goods agreement.
Commissioner Malmström, in her remarks to the meeting, highlighted the urgent nature of climate change and other environmental challenges and stressed the potential of the negotiations to help meet them. She also noted the need for stakeholders to keep the pressure on negotiators for an ambitious outcome.

Negotiations for a planned tariff-cutting deal on environmental goods by a group of 17 WTO members completed a first reading of a compiled product nominations list last week in Geneva, Switzerland, reviewing just over 650 tariff lines and more than 2000 products.
